ROCKINGHAM BEACH AND FUTURE PLANS

14/12/15 @Rockingham Beach - traded christmas spirit for this view, isn't it beautiful? //

One of the things I love most about my time in Australia, is meeting people by chance and becoming really close friends in a short amount of time.

Like Teresa, who I met in the middle of the night at the airport in Dubai.. now we are going out every weekend. Or Jenny who was working in the pub in Mandurah and we started talking cause the waiter introduced us. She's lovely, and we will definitely keep in touch and see again. Currently we are considering to travel somewhere in January or February. Or Marlon, a german backpacker who I met on my very first weekend on the train to Perth CBD. Sandy and I were talking (in German) and after 10 minutes the guy sitting next to us suddenly asked, in which town in Germany we live. By the way Sandy is a German au pair living next door, and one of my first and closest friends over here.
I've got to know heaps of Au Pairs, who are all living around the area, not to mention the Aussies and travelers you get to know when you are on the beach or on parties.

It definitely never gets boring and there are heaps of opportunities to spend the weekend.
Yesterday I met a Danish au pair called Emma. We are planning to go on road trips to the Pinnacle Desert and finally visit Rottnest Island (the famous island where the Quokkas (CUTENESS ALERT!)  live, and which is only 20 minutes away from Perth).

Anyway there are a lot of things on my bucket list, which I want to get done during the summer months (December, January and February) - btw, still a little weird to call christmas time summer.

I really want to go on road trips (Margaret River..), see the Pinnacle Desert, go to Rotto/Rottnest Island, spend evenings at one of Perth's rooftop cinemas, spend a really Australian christmas by the beach, celebrate Australia/Straya Day and finally take surfing lessons at Scarborough beach... to be continued. The most exciting things happen by chance anyway.

Enjoy your christmas time, whether it's 0 or 35 degrees.
MERRY CHRISTMAS
Larissa xx
