SWIMMING WITH DOLPHINS

one of the best experiences in my life! SWIMMING WITH DOLPHINS <3

huge thank you to the "Rockingham Wild Encounters" team for this unforgettable trip!

ROCKINGHAM BEACH AND FUTURE PLANS

14/12/15 @Rockingham Beach - traded christmas spirit for this view, isn't it beautiful? //

One of the things I love most about my time in Australia, is meeting people by chance and becoming really close friends in a short amount of time.

Like Teresa, who I met in the middle of the night at the airport in Dubai.. now we are going out every weekend. Or Jenny who was working in the pub in Mandurah and we started talking cause the waiter introduced us. She's lovely, and we will definitely keep in touch and see again. Currently we are considering to travel somewhere in January or February. Or Marlon, a german backpacker who I met on my very first weekend on the train to Perth CBD. Sandy and I were talking (in German) and after 10 minutes the guy sitting next to us suddenly asked, in which town in Germany we live. By the way Sandy is a German au pair living next door, and one of my first and closest friends over here.
I've got to know heaps of Au Pairs, who are all living around the area, not to mention the Aussies and travelers you get to know when you are on the beach or on parties.

It definitely never gets boring and there are heaps of opportunities to spend the weekend.
Yesterday I met a Danish au pair called Emma. We are planning to go on road trips to the Pinnacle Desert and finally visit Rottnest Island (the famous island where the Quokkas (CUTENESS ALERT!)  live, and which is only 20 minutes away from Perth).

Anyway there are a lot of things on my bucket list, which I want to get done during the summer months (December, January and February) - btw, still a little weird to call christmas time summer.

I really want to go on road trips (Margaret River..), see the Pinnacle Desert, go to Rotto/Rottnest Island, spend evenings at one of Perth's rooftop cinemas, spend a really Australian christmas by the beach, celebrate Australia/Straya Day and finally take surfing lessons at Scarborough beach... to be continued. The most exciting things happen by chance anyway.

Enjoy your christmas time, whether it's 0 or 35 degrees.
MERRY CHRISTMAS
Larissa xx

WEEKEND IN MANDURAH

We spent the first december weekend in my host family's beach house in Mandurah..
It's a beautiful place and just an one hour drive away. You just have to walk out the door to get to the beach. I was allowed to bring a friend and so I decided to take Sandy with me. We took our bikes and headed downtown to spend Saturday night in the bars and clubs of Mandurah. We had a beautiful sunset dinner @ Dome and started our night in an Irish pub down the road. By chance we got to know a really nice german girl, who is working there. Her name is Jenny, she's 19 and pretty cool. She joined us when we went to the Brighton Hotel Club and Monkey's after finishing her work shift, and we had a great night together.

this photo was taken Saturday night at 4 am somewhere on the beach in Mandurah.
My friend and I left the club, realizing that my bike has been stolen, just after her brand new iPhone 6s hit the ground and smashed. My phone was running out of batter and we struggled to get home, being stuck in Mandurah in the middle of the night. Somehow we made it to get home safely, having an exciting one hour walk back to our beach house.

We had a great night, but still heaps of bad luck in the end. Inspite we decided to take a walk down the beach to enjoy the sound of the waves and the beauty of the city lights. There's nothing a beach walk can't fix. And once more we realized, that it might not have been our night, but it's totally going to be our year. I'm way too grateful for all the amazing people I've met so far and the memories we have created within the last five weeks. Australia you've got me there! <3

exploring the city

these photos were taken on a Saturday in Perth - it's just amazing to explore the city (street art!!), go shopping (city beach/ forever new..), stop for lunch at Grill'd (soooo good!!), enjoy the sunset laying on the grass in King's Park, admiring the sparkling skyline, finish the day with some drinks, or get ready for a night out in Northbridge...
I've been here for 5 weeks now, and I've never wasted a single day being bored.

STEREOSONIC

29th Nov // Stereosonic has been absolutely awesome! The line-up was totally worth it, and it was too hard to decide which act you don't want to miss, cause it was impossible to see all of them.

DIPLO, MAJOR LAZER, ARMIN VAN BUUREN, JAUZ, TCHAMI, DJ SNAKE, GALANTIS, SHOWTEK, AXWELL AND INGROSSO, WILL SPARKS, CARNAGE, TIMMY TRUMPET, CLAPTONE, SHOCKING, DUKE DUMONT, CLEAN BANDIT, SLUMBERJACK, PEKING DUK, OLIVER HELDENS, WHAT SO NOT  - just to name a few..

I've been lucky enough to have seen some of them performing live before.. like Diplo in Cologne and Claptone in Dortmund. All in all it has been an amazing day, which started with a lovely pre-drinking at Lauren's and Kate's house. We met at 10 am, mixed some jungle juice, enjoyed the sun and got ready for the festival.
